If you have known me for any length of time you know that my hearing is lousy…at best. If you have known me for a really long time you know that I have a long history of issues with my ears- eight sets of tubes (I’m after a world record), chronic ear infections, non-functioning eustachian tubes, the list could go on for some time, and get super boring.
I’m hopeful that tomorrow marks a turnaround for all of my issues.
I will be having surgery in the morning to have tubes placed into both ears (I know- this is typically a surgery for kids so laugh all you want!) as well as having some stuff done in the mastoid area of my ear (the bony hump behind your ear). That space is supposed to be filled with air pockets, but mine is full of junk…so the doctor is going to go in and remove the stuff and open up that area like it is supposed to be. It’s a relatively simple, but tedious surgery that will hopefully lead to better hearing for me, but ultimately better long term ear health.
I wasn’t going to post anything, or say anything to many people, but then I felt like that was wrong. I didn’t want to make a big deal about it, because it is not, but I also do not want to keep all of you- my brothers and sisters from being aware so that you could pray for me. Our greatest need is for prayer, and we covet those prayers. Please pray for the doctors and nurses, please pray for no negative reactions to the anesthesia, and please pray for no anxiety for Brandi and I.
And ignore any videos/pictures of me tomorrow that seem like I could be under the influence…(not that my dear wife would post such things.)
Much love to you guys!
Don’t worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.7And the peace of God, which surpasses every thought, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
